In your first meeting with Dr. Steinleitner, he will practice his family tradition of masterful teaching and discuss with you all the potential issues contributing to your infertility. After an introduction to diagnostic testing options, he will devise a plan for your evaluation and therapy.

Dr. Steinleitner will construct a list of fertility diagnostics at the conclusion of your first meeting.

We want to get a complete understanding of your infertility problems before assembling a treatment plan.

We have five essential questions to ask and hear your answers in order to achieve this goal:

• Are your eggs healthy and is your ovulation normal?
• Does your male partner have normal fertility?
• Is your uterus healthy and willing to accept pregnancy?
• Do you have healthy, undamaged fallopian tubes?
• Will your body support fertilization of your eggs and allow growth during pregnancy?

Surprising fact: subtle infertility problems are often not found on simple tests run by gynecologists. Common problems include male infertility despite normal sperm counts, unreceptive uterus for pregnancy (uterus not “sticky” enough for the embryo to attach), and fallopian tubal scarring due to endometriosis.

Key Point: these issues can all lead to chronic infertility and cannot be diagnosed without testing.
